This stay will spoil all future Airbnb experiences we will ever have. The Crew's Quarters was as fully stocked as you could imagine. From a choke rescue vacuum ambu bag among the first aid supplies to more coffee options than Starbucks, the absolute thoroughness that Dwight and Kristy have accomplished here is amazing. From blow up floaties to bicycles, bubbles to black light flashlights for nighttime rock hunting on the shore, the outdoor shed had everything.

Inside, there were ample towels and sheets and air conditioners and fans. The bathrooms were clean and very well stocked. There were board games and books, and even a packed beach bag ready to go with towels, bug spray and sunscreen.

And the beach- a short walk down a sidewalk to a glorious, private beachfront. They were fully accommodating of our uncertain arrival time, and even let us extend our stay by a night. Every detail was meticulously planned and thoughtful. Run and book this place!

One of the things I am thankful for in my experience with the trip my daughter and I took to the Hibiscus house, is the integrity and truthfulness of the owners. So often, when I search for a property, the total cost ends up being 50% more than what the nightly cost indicates because of a plethora of additional fees. This was not the case with Dwight and Kristy's listing. No hidden fees. I have also experienced pictures that represent best-case scenarios and not the truth of the situation. Also, not the case with Dwight and Kristy's listing. The pictures of the house and the beach were as accurate as I have ever seen. I am also grateful for the interest Dwight and Kristy took in our particular experience. My 13-year-old daughter and I visited Lake Erie specifically to hunt for sea glass. We shared that information, and when we got to the house we found current print-outs and books about sea glass hunting as, well as tools we could use. The house itself was simply perfect. It was completely stocked with anything we could have forgotten (including beach towels in a packed beach bag) and provided filtered water and a choice of coffees. The house was clean, the bed comfortable (we only used the queen so I cannot speak to the bunks), and the front porch perfect for reading and visiting. The beach access is only steps from the house, it is clean, and we will treasure our time both hunting (and successfully finding) sea glass, and watching stunning sunsets on the sandy shores. My daughter and I are already talking about when we can visit again.

Wow! I’ve been to several AirBnBs over the years, and must say that this has been my best experience ever. Dwight and Kristy were so kind right from the start of our communication. They worked with our schedules and ensured we felt a sense of welcome. Kristy met us when we arrived. She showed us around the whole Hibiscus House, and even walked down to the beach with us. She shared with us some of the history, encouraged us to make ourselves at home and made sure to point out small details we may have missed without the tour. Dwight left us a sweet welcome note inside with coupons for ice cream treats and miniature golf, so thoughtful. The queen bed was super comfy, kids loved the space with the bunk beds, and pull out couch. Waking up to the coffee bar was amazing and I didn’t have to worry if I forgot anything. Dwight and Kristy have thought of everything! We loved the sweet neighborhood, amazing sunsets at the beach. We will be back, and soon. What a gem of a place!

We are ruined for all other vacation houses/hotels that is. We have been vacationing with our kids for about 25 years now. Not once have we had a better stay or had such thoughtful owers. They think of all the small things you may forgot, lose or heck you didn’t even think of. It’s close to everything we had on our list to do plus everything else we found to do. You will not regret staying here especially with young kids. Plenty of room for the 5 of us. 3 adults, 13 and 2 yo. Thank you Kristi and Dwight!!!

Dwight and Christy were wonderful hosts. I was looking for someplace to go for my 35th anniversary. And their place seemed perfect. There was a plumbing issue the morning we were to check in and Dwight called and explained that he had to cancel the reservation. He was very apologetic and he even tried to help me find another place to stay. A couple hours later he called to see if I found something else, which I had not. He said that the plumbing issue had been fixed and that if we still wanted to stay there we could. Which we did. On the way there I called Dwight and during our conversation he said he wasn't going to charge us for the weekend due to the stress of the last minute cancelation.

Even without their generosity, we would still give the same review. The unit was immaculate. There isn't any thing you could need that isn't supplied. They met us there and showed us where everything was. The private beach was a 1 minute walk away and the views are beautiful. Great place to stay.

I desperately wish I could leave more than a 5 star rating. The communication from the host was extremely more than acceptable. Even before our trip I communicated a need we would have at a location we stayed. We were the first to ask and they made it happen. Upon arriving at the home they were there to greet us. We got a tour of the home and all of the amenities, which are even considerably more than listed. The description of the property is exactly what we found upon arrival with many added amenities. There is absolutely nothing they did not think of. I strongly encourage anyone who thinks they may want to rent this property to reach out to the owners with any questions or needs. They are incredible to work with. I know we are already discussing when we want to travel back to the area and we will definitely be staying here.

Perfect place for small families or couples. The amenities were great, especially the different options for coffee. The walk-in shower was amazing. That alone makes it better than a hotel in my opinion. Having a washer and dryer on site was seriously helpful. Especially if you forget to bring something.

We were so glad he told us about how close the beach was. You can go to the beach at night and look at the stars. Or even search for special rocks with UV flashlights. The waves and the scenery were perfect for winding down after a long day at Cedar Point. Watching the sunrise on the beach was beautiful as well. I highly suggest doing that as a good way to start your morning.

The hosts were lovely. We will definitely be staying here again in the future and recommend it for anyone who wants a relaxing stay away from home.

Owner communication was prompt and informative. All our questions were answered very efficiently. The home was extremely clean and exceedingly well appointed. We were greeted with a kind, personal note from the owner and a complimentary bottle of wine from a local winery. We were tickled to see all the coffee and tea selections offered! We chose to grind several flavors of the whole coffee beans to prepare an incredible pour over. We really enjoyed preparing our own meals. The kitchen was fully stocked with all the equipment and utensils we needed. Even a unique cheese board for a charcuterie spread! The bed was extraordinarily comfortable. The thoughtful extra amenities throughout the home, as well as outdoors (for when the weather warms up) were extraordinary!! We enjoyed walking around the small community and appreciating all the different home designs, as well as spent time watching a pair of bald eagles cruise and soar along the shoreline. The winds were not cooperative to afford us a visit to the beach, but we will be back for that! The attention to details to ensure guests are well taken care of at Hibiscus House shows from the moment you walk through the door. We won't hesitate to recommend this cozy property to friends and family traveling to the area. We are looking forward to more visits during different seasons to appreciate everything the property has to offer. Having traveled extensively and almost exclusively using host-rented properties, Hibiscus House is at the top of our list for value, amenities, location and charm.

Dwight and Kristy were AMAZING hosts!!! We were welcomed with flexible check in/ check due to host's kindness and seasonal weather. These kind offers took away my stress as I live a 5 hour drive away.

The quaint, friendly and safe neighborhood location was beyond beautiful with a sweet little beach a short walk away. My 4 kids had a blast, even in the rain-looking for shells! The home was stocked for anything you might have forgotten, which helped us greatly. My daughter even commented, "Mom, give the host 5 stars rating as they thought of anything a person might forget!" Honestly, my experience staying here was the best AirBNB experience I have ever had, and I have had many. This home was perfect sized, clean, well stocked, in a beautiful location, with extremely helpful, kind and responsive hosts. I cannot wait to stay here again 🙏... No, really, I am looking forward to it, and I just left.

Our family absolutely loved our stay! From the moment we arrived, we felt so grateful this place was available. It was the perfect home away from home for our little family and made our week at the lake so relaxing and memorable.

Dwight and Kristy have truly thought of everything. The house was incredibly well stocked with everything we could possibly need. I’ve stayed in a lot of Airbnbs over the years, and I’ve honestly never been in one that was this thoughtfully equipped. There were plenty of towels, blankets, kitchen essentials, beach gear, and all the little extras that make a vacation feel effortless. The coffee station deserves its own shoutout—it was by far the best Airbnb coffee setup I’ve ever seen, which was especially appreciated since I drink more coffee than I’d like to admit! The bunk beds were surprisingly comfortable, and every space felt clean, cozy, and intentionally designed to make guests feel welcome.

We make frequent trips to the area, at least 4 a year, to visit family. We usually stay in a motel for budget reasons. When Hibiscus House showed up in our search for a place to stay during our trip in March, and it was well within our budget, and we could hardly belive it... I actually had my daughter go over and take a look... And it was as advertised: A nice little apartment on a quiet street, located a few minutes walk from a very nice beach, where my wife and younger daughter spent some time collecting small shells and sea glass. It was more than perfect for our needs. The bedrooms and livingroom are small, but thoughtfully furnished. We found them to be cozy, and the whole space was much bigger than any motel room we have experienced in the area. The beds were very comfortable. The bathroom was clean, and like the kitchen, very well stocked with anything you could possibly need. The laundry equipment tucked into the corner of the kitchen appeared new, and very conveinient, as we had occasion to use it a few times. Overall, we found the place to be very clean and comfortable. The hosts were friendly and very responsive, offering suggestions for dinner options when we told them we had arrived and were going to quickly unload and then go grab some dinner. They could not have been nicer. When they found a charger that they did not recognize after our stay, they quickly asked if we had left it behind and offered to mail it to us. As it turned out, it was the charger for my daughter's electric scooter, and we were very appreciative of their thoughtfulness. We look forward to staying at Hibiscus House again in the future.

We went fishing with Gary King aka:The hawg rustler! We caught a bunch of hood Walleye and some white perch and a huge catfish. The air b&b was above all our expectations and very clean and well equipped with any and everything you could need down to spices for cooking and extra hygiene items in case you left something behind when packing. The owners were very nice and friendly and did an awesome job. We will return to this air b&b in the future for sure.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The house is lovely: cute, very clean, and quiet. Chances are that if you forgot something, this house has it. The lake is just steps away, and the local park is really good: easy access to the lake and lots of amenities. Dwight and Kristy are wonderful hosts: check in and check out went as smooth as possible, and if you have any questions, they reply very fast. Thank you, and we hope to be back sometime!

Excellent accommodations, super kind hosts, beautiful location just steps from the lake—will absolutely visit again. Kristy and Dwight were responsive and thoughtful. This home has been lovingly renovated with comfort and functionality at the forefront. The kitchen is well equipped with everything we needed to make home cooked meals when desired, a full assortment of spices, utensils, and even some favorite local condiments. And if you’ve never spent time on Lake Erie, this would be a lovely introduction. You will be just steps from the shore with waterfront access.

Kristy was on site when we arrived to give us a full tour (we rented both units) and made sure we had everything we needed for an excellent stay. Highly recommend.

We had an amazing time and the location could not have been better. They have everything you could need in the house and the shed is full of beach toys, chairs, wagons, fishing poles, literally anything you could think you may need on a beach vacation. Beach was just a few houses down and we went every morning and evening. House was the perfect size for our family of six. Patio tavern across the street from the neighborhood had music on the weekend you could sit outside and listen to but couldn’t hear inside the house so it was perfect. We hope to be able to stay again next time we’re in town! Highly recommend.

We were at the Lake house in MITIWANGA 3 nights, the weather was stellar and we loved everything!! We are newly retired, but have always enjoyed traveling to new places. With this in mind, we have also done a number of reviews over the years AND...this is the 1st time we have agreed to give 5 STARS across the board. Attention to detail, all the xtra touches (e.g. spices, games, water dispenser, etc.) to make it feel homey made it a very enjoyable getaway. Honestly...it was only the weekend rates that kept us from staying even longer. Thanks!

If you’re not booking here you’re missing out. I couldn’t have asked for a single thing more. We checked in super late and we were still greeted by the host! Place was one of the cleanest airbnbs I have stayed in by far. The unit was packed with everything I could have asked for or forgotten at home and I truly mean it. My favorite part was the spacious shower! My kid wasn’t bored for a second. When we were not at cedars point he was grabbing something from the shed to play with. Super comfortable neighborhood and walking distance from the beach. Don’t think about it, just book. You won’t regret it. We will be back for sure.

While looking for a place near Lake Erie close to the lake I found this house. It is perfect for a small group the house is clean and set up nicely. The owners responded quickly to any questions we had. The lake was just a short walk from the house to a nice beach area. We were able to watch eagles fly over us which is why we came to the lake to see eagles! Our weekend was so relaxing and we really enjoyed our stay and said we come back. We give it a 5*

Dwight and Kristy are awesome hosts. We were met on our arrival date by Kristy and she walked us through the house giving us the tour and local recommendations. The house is beautiful and super close to the beach. It's perfect for a family group. There were 5 of us and we fit easily and had two open bunk beds left over. There is everything you could need here. Comfortable beds and couches, new kitchen, and a couple of TVs too. The wifi worked great as well for the kids internet needs. The neighbors were all super nice and welcoming too. The house is right across from a Basketball court/Tennis Court and Pickleball court and less than a block from a cute little beach. You are also within easy driving distance to Sandusky/Cedar Point and within an hour drive to Cleveland.

We intend to return to this beautiful area and will work on getting back into this house when we do.

I cannot say enough good things about these host. The pictures don’t do the place justice and they have thought of everything you could possibly need. Host were amazing and space was perfect. Kristy taught us about yooperlite and how to find it and provided everything needed. That was honestly the highlight for our teen and grow kids, hunting yooperlite every night on the beach. The neighbors were friendly and kind also. Nice quiet neighborhood, lots of things to do.

We were so happy with our stay. Dwight was so kind and helpful. The house was cozy, comfortable and very well appointed. They thought of everything to make the stay comfortable, relaxing and fun. Gourmet coffees and teas, a bathroom stocked with things you might have forgot. A gaming system, a slot machine, books and so many outdoor activities in the shed. The kitchen was well appointed with everything you might need including spices. I loved that it was just a couple hundred feet from the beach. We spent our nights down there looking for shells and sea glass. It was peaceful and so beautiful. The local restaurants were so good and we fell in love with a local coffee shop. It was a great location. Not touristy very calm and quiet with great access to the beach. We would definitely stay here again.

It was a perfect place for me and my dog to spend the holiday weekend. My brother and family were across the street. We went to the beach Friday when it was warm but windy. Saturday we walked on the pier in Huron (which is dog friendly) and the kids played at the playground. Later my brother and I visited a winery. Throughout the weekend we walked around the quiet streets of Mitiwanga. The cottage is well equipped and had everything I needed for a weekend getaway.

Dwight and Christy were great hosts. I've been to lots of places but never one so well stocked. From beach accessories to a coffee selection and even condiments, snacks and a few drinks. We really enjoyed the little park in front of the house with pickelball, Volley ball and basketball courts.

The beach right by the house was fantastic as well. The place was spotless clean with a very nice gas grill on the patio that we used a lot. Thank you Dwight and Christy!

We booked this property for our trip to Cedar Point to celebrate my nephews birthday. It was myself, my wife, my sister and my nephew. The place was easy to find and exactly as pictured. The curb appeal is fantastic- the gardening is amazing and absolutely beautiful. We really enjoyed sitting out front on the patio which offered shade and privacy. While the inside is small, there was plenty of room for what we needed. Everything was clean and we loved the way it was decorated. There was a very thoughtful and much appreciated birthday surprise bowl of treats for my nephew- he was over the moon! The hosts thought of everything - there was a plethora of tea and coffee, everything you would need to cook meals, tons of games, a big TV, beach stuff, bikes, etc. The beach is so close- we saw some beautiful sunsets there. Everyone in the area was very friendly. The door lock uses a code so you don't have to worry about losing a key. Our only regret is that we didn’t have as much time on the short trip to really get to take full advantage of everything offered at the place because we spent most of our time at CP. I would strongly suggest planning extra time to enjoy the property if you are going for any reason other than to enjoy the lake. IF you are looking for a place, look no further because this is the place! Huge thanks to Kristy and Dwight for everything!!! You are stellar people and hosts.

We really enjoyed our stay! The excellent level of hospitality began even before our arrival. From accommodating our pet, an early arrival and even sharing local events happening during our stay. We loved that this cottage was located in a friendly beach community just a short walk to the beach. We took advantage of sitting on the porch and the many options of tea and coffee Dwight and Kristy provided.The amenities they offered exceeded our expectations. The kitchen and bathroom were fully stocked with essentials as well as all your needs for the beach. We tried Jim’s Pizza box and Angry Bull for meals, they were both very good.(especially the Prime Rib!) Once again thank you for the wonderful stay and we look forward to visiting in the future!

My family and I needed home base for Cedar Point. This home was absolutely perfect. The house was stocked with everything you need and the shed out back is full of things needed for a great day at the beach. The furniture was comfy and there was a great collection of books and games. We spent quite a few nights playing Cards Against Humanity Family Edition! Dwight and Kristy were great! We would not hesitate to stay here again.

Dwight and Kristi are wonderful hosts and make your visit accommodating and welcoming. When asked if we could check in early to help us make our plans work with the times we'd be staying, they allowed us to check in the night before our stay with no extra charge. This we so sweet and considerate. The house was stocked with coffee and tea. We are coffee lovers so this was wonderful! The community is beautiful! They had everything we could need to make our trips to the beach simple and enjoyable. The beauty of the sunset from the beach was stunning! My husband and I will likely stay again because this place is perfect for a relaxing couple getaway. The house is also so perfect, especially for a family with small kiddos!

On a whim we decided to do a local getaway. We wanted to be very frugal, as we are remodeling our home. When I found the Hibiscus House, I had to check the price twice, to make sure I was seeing correctly. Located only a few minutes walking distance from the Lake Erie shoreline and beaches, in a small, quiet community, seemed a perfect place. We were pleasantly surprised with a bottle of wine awaiting our arrival, and how well-stocked this little, cozy apartment is! We'll definitely return.

The cottage was in a great location. Close enough to bigger cities without being disturbed by traffic. The size of the cottage was fitting for my family of four. A 13 year old son and a 9 year old daughter. They loved the bunk beds. It was a short walk to the beach. The beach was clean and you could tell that the people in the neighborhood really cared about their community. Everyone drove slowly. Kids played in the streets without worry. We brought along our small dog. He had a great time. While there was no fenced in yard to put him out into, he really enjoyed his more frequent walks. Nice detail is the bag stations at most every corner to clean up the mess your dog made. Very clean properties. The cottage we stayed at, the owners have thought of literally everything. No little detail goes unnoticed. Great coffee and tea selection. Every appliance you could need. Pots, pans, and everything in between. Beds were comfy. Bedding and throw blankets had all been very recently cleaned. Great little bathroom. Happy that I rented from bidet converts. It made it feel just like home. Overall 9/10.

My family and I had an exceptional vacation at the Shipwreck House. It is the perfect place for relaxing, visiting, making memories, and connecting with amazing people. Dwight and Kristy were extremely accommodating hosts, super friendly, and very helpful in anything we needed. The house itself exceeded my expectations, was comfortable and cozy, incredibly well stocked, and had plenty of room to visit with family. lt was a short stroll to Lake Erie, in fact you could see the stunning lake from the sunroom. There is plenty of beach area to swim and soak up sunshine. The sunrises and sunsets are breathtaking! Dwight and Kristy have not only fully stocked the house but have stocked a shed with lake and sand toys, chairs, bikes, pickle ball and basket balls for the courts across the road, supplies to find the “Great Lakes Glowing Rocks”, and more. It is a great, safe neighborhood for kids to play outside. My family fully enjoyed our time, made amazing memories, and will certainly return.

Awesome place! Only Vrbo I've stayed at that has items stocked for your use. From hygiene essentials to coffee to seasonings, they have everything you may have forgotten or didn't know you needed. Super friendly hosts. The shed out back was full of everything you need for a little beach therapy at their private community beach. Amazing place, amazing people, amazing area. Cedar point was awwsome and the sunsets are to die for! Excellent must stay!

We had the best stay and didn't want to leave! It is a lovely location and perfect for 2 to 3 people. We actually preferred the pull out couch mattress, as it was super comfortable. The neighborhood is adorable and the walk down to the beach is not far, and definitely worth the sunset views. Dwight and Kristy were the best hosts I've had so far (and I've been going to AirBnBs for 9 years). They are super communicative and actually come say hi and give a walk through, as well as local recommendations. Hopefully we will return!

My daughter and I had such a wonderful stay! We had the pleasure of meeting Kristy, who was incredibly sweet and welcoming, and the place truly felt like home. The hosts are very generous and have thoughtfully provided everything you could need, including plenty of beach toys for the kids.

The home was exceptionally clean, the bed was extremely comfortable, and the location couldn’t be better. The beautiful sandy beach is less than a 3 minute walk away, making this the perfect spot for a Cedar Point and beach vacation. We loved watching the gorgeous sunset and even seeing fireflies in the evening! This was genuinely one of the best stays we’ve had. We would happily book with them again and are already looking forward to coming back. Highly recommend!

Our family stayed at Hibiscus House for 6 days. The house has all the amenities to make you feel at home. The hosts make sure their guests have everything they need to have a wonderful stay. They are very generous and thoughtful in ensuring that their guests are comfortable. Hibiscus House is close to many interesting and fun places (e.g. Cedar Point Park, African Wildlife Safari, Bass Island). We also went to Detroit and Cleveland. I highly recommend Hibiscus House and would love to come back.

Wonderful place to stay on a long fall weekend - we loved being just steps from the lake as well as a short drive to apple orchards, corn mazes, and of course Cedar Point. The house was excellent - comfortable beds, great kitchen for cooking, really fun board games, and the most comfortable mega couch you can imagine. Great communication from Dwight and Kristy, including everything we needed to know about the house and suggestions of things to do nearby. Dwight even stayed up so we could check in after 1AM when our flight was delayed! We had a great time and would gladly stay here again

first off I want to start by saying I've never met a host as long as I've been booking airbnbs. I have a friend that is a host in my hometown and and that's the only host that I've ever met, so to be able to meet Christy was a great pleasure. she was very friendly gave us a tour of the house and the property pointed out all of the extras and when I mean extras I mean extras. the ambiance was amazing the fact that they had a hibiscus Christmas tree in the living room was great as we were there to celebrate my daughter's 8th birthday and to visit her dad. my girls and I felt right at home. I will definitely say that I overpacked this trip because this Airbnb was packed with things that I never would have expected. from the extra cell phone stands cords extra linens portable fans game system slot machine and unit laundry everything in the kitchen that you could think of needing was there. not to mention the butcher block countertops and being so close to the beach in water were great!

The house had everything we needed for our week’s stay. All the kitchen and bathroom needs were available. The homeowners were super quick to answer questions. We loved walking to the beach area to people watch. The weather was too windy to fish off the beach and pier areas this week but we found other things to do. The owners know the area so well and gave us some great recommendations for activities. The only con I had about the whole place was the front bedroom, the bed was creaky and with a lightweight mattress and pillows

I can not find enough words to tell you all that this wonderful place has. If you looking for convenience To the beach to great food in a calm friendly community. This is the place. The host showed us around and answered all are questions. They have truly thought of everything from comforts to extra over the top extras like all beach needs and sports equipment for a variety if fun , washer and dryer , dishes and a coffee / tea lovers dream of many varieties. The Hibiscus House was as described...and more! From the first moment we pulled up, we felt at home! This small cottage has everything you need for a family or group of 4-5 (We had 2 adults, 2 kids, and a grandmom). We spent most of the time exploring the area, especially Cedar Point! There is so much to do within 20- 30 minutes in every direction....plus you are right down the street from private lake access, which was a definate plus for cooling off and hunting for sea glass. If your looking for a low key, down to earth cottage with all the comforts of home and in the middle of all the area attractions....Hibiscus House should be your first choice!

We had a perfect 5-night stay at the Hibiscus House—our kids were so sad to leave! Despite rain in the forecast, the weather was mostly sunny. As a family of color, we were a bit nervous about visiting a small town, but we felt mostly safe and welcomed, with only occasional stares. Kristy and Dwight were exceptional hosts— thoughtful, responsive, and full of great local tips. It’s clear they host out of a passion for helping families create lasting memories. The house was clean, well-stocked, and the sleeping arrangements were ideal for families. Our kids loved the extra beach supplies and the TV games. The only thing we missed was a private outdoor space for little kids to run around, but otherwise, it was perfect. The beach was a quick walk away and absolutely beautiful. We also enjoyed local attractions like Kelleys Island, Mulberry Creek Winery, dining in Westlake, and the Huron River Fest. We couldn’t have asked for a better family getaway and highly recommend the Hibiscus House!

This was such a great place for a Lake Erie getaway! It’s just a short walk down a nice little walkway and set of stairs to the beach. On weekdays, it honestly felt like our own private spot since hardly anyone else was around. The owners really thought of everything for the lake—fishing gear, rafts, life vests, beach towels, you name it. Inside, the house was super clean and stocked with plenty of blankets, pillows, and towels.The kitchen had everything we needed for cooking, and we loved hanging out on the patio with the table, chairs, and big grill. The oversized couch in the living room was so comfortable—it fit all four of us with room left over. There are lots of sleeping options, too: three twins, a full, a queen, and a huge pull-out couch. The only thing I'd mention is that the third bedroom/dining room doesn't have AC, so it wouldn't be my first choice for sleeping in the summer. But with all the other beds available, it wasn't a problem.The owner met us when we arrived and walked us through everything, which was really helpful. They were so friendly and made it clear we could reach out if we needed anything. Overall, it’s a great value for the price, and we'd definitely come back!

I stayed here for 3 nights while visiting Cedar Point, and it was a great experience all around. The location was super convenient—just a short drive to the park—which made getting there each day quick and easy.

The place was clean, comfortable, and matched the photos perfectly. It had everything I needed for a smooth stay, including a well-stocked kitchen and a cozy space to relax after long days out.

The host was friendly and responsive, and check-in was really simple. No issues at all during the stay. I’d definitely stay here again if I’m back in the area. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Cedar Point or the local area.

Just wow! What a gem! Dwight was extremely helpful and gave us great recommendations for nearby areas. He even gave special attention to our pup (a Pomeranian) and made us feel super comfortable. The Hibiscus House was just perfect for our family of three (2 adults, 1 child......and a pup 🙂 ), but could certainly accommodate a couple more people. And when it says "walking distance" to the beach, it truly is walking distance and super easy to get to. Having all the extra amenities was also a super bonus! One of our goals while staying here was being able to go to Cedar Point, and it was so nice to have an easy drive to it from here. I could go on and on about how wonderful our stay was, but I only have so much room. We could not be happier to have spent our 8 year anniversary here.

The area was pretty much what we expected for a November Lake Erie trip - quiet and peaceful with not a lot of folks around. What was surprising to us was the thoughtfulness and care Dwight and Kristy put into their property: it was clear they have made an effort to accommodate anything you might have need of during your stay. Plenty of beach items are available for use ( particularly liked seeing rollercoasters at Cedar Point through the binoculars!), the kitchen has ample cooking utensils and cookware, on site laundry is also a nice option, although our stay was too short to warrant use this time. And I say this time because we hope to come back with our family next summer to take advantage of warmer weather activities! Thanks to our lovely hosts for an excellent getaway option.

We had such a lovely stay. The hosts were very friendly and kind. I’d definitely recommend it and have already. It was just the right size. They had all sorts of “just incase you forgot” offerings. The house was honey and beds comfortable. The neighborhood was very cute and seemed extremely safe. The lake is a very brief stroll away and was gorgeous.

We actually had to let them know my disabled daughter accidentally broke their picture frame and they were very forgiving and gracious.

We will definitely consider staying with them again if they’ll have us. Maybe with a force field around the replacement frame though. 😁 You won’t regret booking this place. They thought of everything.

Stay at the Hibiscus house was perfect! Our son played a tournament game at, Sport Force Park...house was about 15 minutes away( which was perfect for early morning games). Beach was within 2 minutes walking and so pretty! Dwight and Kristy thought of every last detail in house, which is nice incase you forgot something! They also had a basketball, tennis gear along with other equipment , which my kids enjoyed playing with at court right down the street. Will definitely be checking if house is available if we have any more games nearby, in the coming years !

We stayed 6 days at this lovely place, and it exceeded our expectations. The location is perfect, very close to the beach and relaxing atmosphere. It is 20 min away from Sandusky/Cedar Point. The beach house worked out great for the four of us and it has everything you possible can need on a vacation. The owners are very helpful, fast response on the questions we had, and they had prepared the place perfect to make our visit comfortable. Lots of things you can borrow to use at the beach. Can not go wrong with this place!! We would love to come back in the future

We were so pleased with the accommodations. We had a peaceful stay at the Captain’s Quarters. The amenities were top notch and all the thoughtful extras were very much appreciated. Everything was so clean and perfectly set up for our stay. An early morning walk on the beach was magical to be able to see and hear the sights and sounds of Lake Erie in the winter. We would love to come back again in the warmer months to experience the lake life again. We wouldn’t hesitate to choose to stay here again as well as recommend these accommodations to friends and family who may be visiting the area. It is so close to do many sites and attractions for family fun!

My group and I were down in Ohio for Colossalcon for the week (located pretty close by, too). This listing had everything we needed for a comfortable stay for a group of 6. Most of us slept in the bunk room, except me, because that adjustable bed was too hard to resist! Our late arrivals slept in the Murphy bed, which my sister stated: "Was the most comfortable bed she's ever slept in." I LOVED the renovated kitchen area and all the supplies that I had access to while making meals. I appreciated the alphabetized spices. I can happily vouch that the cookware is awesome and easy to use. The shower also felt like heaven. The couch was the most comfortable couch in the world.

Kristy and Dwight were very responsive hosts. They answered any questions I had about the booking, even before I officially booked. Kristy was there upon arrival (even though we were late) and was super nice on the guided tour! I enjoyed meeting her! If you're looking for a cool place to stay, this is it!

-The bed was great, even though I’m tall! I only bumped my head while laying down a few times, haha.

-The pull out was also really comfy, and super easy to take in and out. The blankets were really soft!

-We really appreciate how accommodating they were, especially with the stuff in the medicine cabinet and the kitchen cabinets. As well as how fast they were able to come in and troubleshoot the AC, we were really grateful they were able to do that so quickly.

-The shower was a peak highlight, with the stool and the handheld attachment, and the soap provided smelled wonderful.

-Despite being nervous meeting a host in person, Dwight was personable and made me feel safe upon arrival.

’'ve had a few bad experiences with ABNBs the last few years. This experience made me have faith again. This little home couldn’t have been more perfect for my family. Every single one of us agreed it was the best place we’ve stayed. Dwight really thought of everything. I mean EVERYTHING! The coffee and Tea selections were super cool. My 4 year old was super excited that there were bikes to ride. The beach near the home was beautiful. I wish we had more time to spend at the home while visiting for Halloweekends. I will definitely be trying to come and visit again!

Our stay was beyond words!!! From the moment we pulled in the parking space right in front of the Lil Cozy & Cute Cottage until we departed, was AMAZING & SUPER THOUGHTFUL! Staying at Hibiscus House was a wonderful experience. It was clean, comfy, and very well stocked. They had a large seasoning cabinet full of anything you might want and their coffee and tea selection was fantastic. The area was lovely and we were only a short walk from the shore of Lake Erie. Dwight and Kristy were amazing, so kind and willing to help and give suggestions on what to do in the area. My only regret is not being able to stay longer! Hopefully we will be able to return and have another great stay in the future.

Dwight and Kristy were amazing hosts! The property was more than we expected. There wasn’t a detail that was overlooked or forgotten to make it feel like home. Having access to beach equipment and children’s toys for the park were an unexpected bonus! The property was pristine and beautifully decorated. The beach area was absolutely beautiful! We enjoyed days on the sand/water and evenings with sunsets. We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect location or property. Every amenity was accounted for and then some. Kristy and Dwight were highly responsive and offered insight into local activities. Highly recommend!!

My daughter, grandson and I had a very pleasant stay! Everything was clean and new and modern. I especially appreciated the ice dispenser on the refrigerator; it came in very handy. My daughter loved the modern faucets, the front sitting room, and most of all, the beach. It was very clean and restful. Kristy had shown me a book about collecting sea glass when I checked in, and we actually found some on the beach! My granddaughter came to visit for a couple of hours and also loved the beach,I appreciated that everything was in great working order (I've stayed places where this was not always the case). The hosts were attentive to our needs. Although we didn't have any issues during our stay, my grandson left a ring there, which Dwight and Kristy are mailing back to us.So obviously we recommend this property for a very pleasant vacation.

Sister and I spent 4 nights at the beautiful Hibiscus House. Very clean. Very warm and inviting, such a relaxing home away from home for us. We don’t cook when we are on vacation, but anything we would have needed was in the well appointed kitchen. The beds were comfortable, bedding cool blues and greens...very lake feeling! Roku TV available. Dwight and Kristy are wonderful hosts. Very quick to answer any questions I had. We were surprised with a nice bottle of local wine. Located in a nice, quiet neighborhood, everyone we met were very friendly. We spent the majority of our time down on the lake shore, which is just a few minutes walk from the house. Plenty of beach items are provided, including beach towels. We did use the beach cart and chairs that are in the building behind the house. We like to be on the sand near (and in) the water, so we didn’t go out much, but Dwight did leave a note suggesting places to visit. We enjoyed our time spent at Hibiscus House so much we checked the 2024 calendar while we were still there. A very popular destination, it looks like we will have to look into 2025!! We loved it here, and look forward to a future stay at the Hibiscus house!!! Thank you Dwight & Kristy!!!

Highly recommend, Dwight and Kristy were wonderful hosts, very helpful and they have thought of everything! I brought my 5 children to cedar point and found hibiscus house on VRBO. It was the perfect place to cool off in the lake and enjoy the views. They had everything we needed for the beach, I didn't have to pack anything but swimsuits! We would definitely return. Way better than any hotel stay and everybody was very friendly in the area.
