Small house, big kitchen
This was our first home, and we set out to build the kind of vacation place we'd want to stay in ourselves. It packs a lot of living into a small footprint.
The kitchen has a full cook stove with oven and a butcher-block counter that seats everyone. A compact fridge leaves room for a stacked washer and dryer. This is also where Kristy came up with her coffee cart: a hot and cold water cooler with a Keurig, ready when you wake up.
In summer, Kristy's hibiscus arrangements make the porch feel like the tropics. The real thing, one of the North Coast's best-known private beaches, is a few hundred yards away.
