The Captain's Quarters
The Captain's Quarters is our studio offering. Though this is our smallest space, do not let that misguide you into believing it doesn't pack the same vacation punch as her bigger sisters. She comes with a full sized stove, fully embellished kitchen, and a laundry facility. She has two hideaway beds. This will allow guest who feel they need more space, to add it to their liking. Just like her sisters, she come stocked with a coffee and tea bar, General spices and condiments, a smart TV, a gas grill, hot and cold water dispenser, all the bedding and linens you will need to enjoy the time in or out of the house.
When I designed these places, I put thought into "who will be staying here?" I pictured the Captain's quarters to appeal mostly to two different scenarios. One was a romantic couples getaway. The local cuisines offerings from the regionally celebrated "angry bull" to the world class "Che François " is only a sample of the many unique tap houses, wineries, Lake Erie seafood, and pub options that are all within 5 miles of the Shipwreck house. Add the beautiful sunsets, the scenic parks and river hikes, as well as the beach of our Great Lake, and a couple could ignite a passion be to a new spark or an old flame. And don't forget that Cedar Point and Kalahari are just a sort drive away. It has long been understood that adrenaline supercharges the libido.
The second scenario I envisioned was a small family. Single parent or young couple with a few younger kids. Wanting to experience the local thrills and environment, but with a tighter budget. So staying at an expensive hotel and having to eat every meal out was out of the question. But if they can just get a home base where they can cut those costs, they can stretch their vacation budget into something far more exciting and memorable than a camping trip with their kids staring at their phones. For this reason we provide free of charge bikes, scooters, fishing equipment, pickleball for our tennis courts, beach toys, and so much more. (How about a telescope to set up on one of our finger piers and dream of space?) We are going to create the canvas that you use to paint that long lasting memory that lets the whole family grow closer.
